With Interac ® Debit contactless payments, your debit card allows you to make contactless purchases at many merchants. The maximum limit is $250 per transaction.
How does it work?
It’s very simple.
* To activate the contactless payments feature, you must first enter your PIN when you make your first transaction by inserting your card into an ABM or merchant terminal.
To activate the limit increase of your contactless payments from $100 to $250, you must first enter your PIN when inserting your card into a merchant terminal.
It's convenient, fast and secure. Payment is instant (no need to enter your PIN). Note that there is a $500 cumulative limit on contactless transactions. This limit is reached when the total of your contactless transactions amounts to $500 from the last time you entered your PIN.
When you reach the limit, you must make a debit payment by entering your PIN to confirm that you are the legitimate cardholder. This is an additional security measure to protect you from theft and fraud. You're also protected in the event of fraud with Zero Liability.
Smart feature
The Interac ® Debit contactless payments feature will make the transaction directly from your chequing account. However, if you don't have an account that is associated with the chequing button, the contactless feature is programmed to make the transaction from your account set to the savings button.
Stay in control
Of course, you can choose the account that will be used by default. Just like you can reduce the maximum contactless payment limit. In fact, you can even disable this feature by setting the limit to zero.
Change the limits on your Business Client Card as often as you wish. These changes are applied in real time, everywhere in the world.

To protect yourself from theft and fraud, you will be asked to enter your PIN when your total contactless transactions amounts to $500 since the last time you entered your PIN.
